Micro-habits to get started
Small actions of a few minutes to start this habit:
Name your emotion precisely
Instead of 'I feel bad', be specific: frustrated, disappointed, anxious, hurt.
The more specific it is, the more manageable it becomes.
1 minWrite down what triggered it
Note the specific situation that set off that emotion.
2 minIdentify the need behind it
Ask yourself which of your needs is going unmet beneath that emotion.
E.g.: anger at not feeling recognized = a need for recognition.
