Practice the natural synchrony that creates instant connection with other people.
Micro-habits to get started
Small actions of a few minutes to start this habit:
Learn the name
In your next interaction with someone new, ask their name within the first 60 seconds.
Offer your name first: 'I'm [name], and you?' Reciprocity will do the rest.
1 minMatch their pace
Notice the speed and tone of the other person's voice and gradually adjust your own.
Don't mimic obviously: introduce the adjustments gradually and naturally.
2 minUse the other person's words
When you reply, use the same vocabulary the other person used to describe something.
If they said 'complicated', don't switch it to 'difficult'. That consistency signals you were listening.
